WebI been trucking for over 30 years and I have only spoken to a small handful of drivers that pulled it off. A good company otr driver can make $1500 take home a week easy. If you have to pay off a truck, fuel, repairs, insurance, tires, tolls, taxes. You will be lucky if you see $500 a week. Most lease purchase drivers become a slave to their truck.

I'd suggest keeping it simple and sticking with dry van your first year. When you get comfortable with that you can branch out to flatbed, reefer or whatever else tickles your fancy.
