WebOct 19, 2018 · Thanks, yes that is an option, but I think I have it figured out. I have a key decoder coming today to try and verify my efforts. It appears that once you insert the spring and tumbler, it locks it in. If you dont use the springs, you can then insert the key and if the tumblers remain flat, you apparently have them correct.

WebOct 5, 2010 · You don't have to have a key to the original switch to get it out. Look at this Switch Tech Tip and it will guide you. The secret is to get the detent pushed in with a paper clip (I used a small jewelers screwdriver), and rotate the key to the LEFT. You can use any key to turn it while the detent is pushed down.

WebDec 3, 2010 · Ended up getting an 1/8 in punch, whacked the lockpin one good time which broke the "axle" of the tumbler. The old one popped out and I fished out the remaining pieces with some needlenose. The new one slid in like a dream and, viola, good to go.

WebFirst, insert the key into the ignition tumbler. Proceed by turning the key counter-clockwise until the key is in the "accessory" position. Using a paper clip or pick tool, depress lockout pin while turning the key counterclockwise approximately 1/8 of a turn. The tumbler should then release. Remove tumbler from ignition switch.

Andy : disconnect wiring from the ignition switch . Then insert the key into igniton . Once inserted, there should be a hole along the body of the ignition .
