My local shop has a build your own complete deal and the choices are Caliber "8.5-8.75" Trucks and Reflex 5.25 "8.0-8.2". Im having a hard time deciding on which ones to get for the board.

Venture, Royal, Krux, Venom among others use the inch scale, going from 5.0" to 5.25", 5.5" or more. But watch out, Royal makes a truck marked 5.5" but the actual size of the truck hanger is closer to 5.8" with an 8.75" axle.

From center of board a 8.38" is only .065" bigger on each side than a 8.25" so it's probably not that big of a deal 148 range is 8.12"-8.38" 149 range is 8.38"-8.62 I use a quarter inch (.25")rule you can overhang or underhand by a quarter inch and you are all good. Wheels can also influence this.

The wheels are going to get smaller anyways so might as well get something pretty decently sized around 54. For cruising wheels, 56+ is good.
