WebJun 5, 2020 · For 8.125" I prefer Thunder 147 trucks with an extra washer on the inside of the wheels. I strongly recommend not to ride wheels bigger than 52mm. If you want to ride bigger wheels, get risers or get 148 Thunders as they are a bit higher than 147. When I ride a board that small I prefer the lightest set up I can get. Logged

Afterwards i rode that deck with Thunder lights 148 and it was also nice .. a better carve and a better grind on those. i can recommend

Plus/minus .25" works for most people as a ratio. A simpler answer is, get an 8.25" truck. The 4 most popular brands are Indy, Venture, Thunder, Ace. All are good. I favor Venture and Ace.

WebFeb 12, 2020 · I have Indy 169s (9"axle) on my 9.125" football. No overhang, feels great. Despite the taper, they visually look like they're the right size for the board too. Personal preference, but with a board that wide I always throw on some 1/8" risers. On an 8.75" I'd probably run 149s on a more severe taper, 159s if it's mellow.
