Either way it is smart to build in some kind of lockout so you can't lift the gate with the latches closed, or have a pressure relief valve set low enough to lift the gate but not tear anything up if the gate is lifted with the latches closed.

The chains for dumping stone have been added back and, and we put two holes near the top so we can lift the gate out with the forklift instead of hanging it from a chain like we always did in the past.
